Its Wednessday, so its time to start thinking about Friday!!!!
This is the gamethread for friday basketball, here you can confirm whether or not your going to play, confirm updates on whether the court is available or not, find out who else is going, discuss car pools, and whatever else that concerns you going (or not going) to play basketball.
I think I will always put one of these up every Wednesday, so please do me the favor of actually using it, even if its just to confirm you are going (and then ill update the post with the information and a the list of peeople who are going)
Also check out some of the other content on this blog, there should be a new section opened by Tonight, while the weekly awards is up and running (I forgot to add a comment feature, but its up now so you can discuss your thoughts on the awards)
If you think of anything i should change or add to this blog let me know and Ill try to figure things out.

Something i feel needs to be figured out is the camera complex...
ReplyDeleteAtiq b, you want to bring your hd camera, which is fine, but the problem then becomes getting hold of the footage and uploading it. Since i have uploaded your cameras footage i know first hand that it takes quite a while due to the conversion process.
I have a usb camera that isnt as good as a hd camera, but it should suffice. I think the way i want to set it up this week is have a cell p hone camera at each basket behind the rim, and then one person utilizing a third camera (the usb one, or if atiq b wants to use his camera) on the sideline.
Im considering bringing duct tape or something so i can attach my cell phone to a fixture behind the rim so I can leave it on record. I think nauman wanted to use his cell phone as well to record which would be fine.
A plus to using cell phones is that the file size is usually relatively small, and I can even probably retrieve the file via bluetooth before we leave the gym so that way i can have the videos up by monday.
If you guys want to use your own cameras and then upload your own videos I wont mind, but my plan was to take all the different angles and then merge them into one video that would show the entire gameplay (think about how it is in the nba. Its usually sideline, but after certain plays they show the view from behind the rim in slo-mo where you can get a better look at a layup or a crossover) and thats kind of what im after. Instead of several videos of the same game, have one video that shows you the best angles of the same game.
Anyway, thats my ideal, but im open to whatever you guys think is best, i dont mind using the hd camera, i just think it might be a hassle to upload

ReplyDeletei like the idea of the different camera angles if we can get that to work. i want to go but i will probably end up coming at 9. Moe and azeem will be there. that is all i have so far.

ReplyDeletei have a basement to clean, but i was going to try to bank on the fact that my mom forgets or something...i remember naveel saying he might also not back from UofI due to some hw project thingy...
If shazil wont be there (no doubt cuz he misses his lucky clothes) naveel wont be there, and you wont be there...
hmmmmm, maybe ill end up cleaning that basement....

If i play like my normal self...and everyone else on my team plays like how they did last week....its over
ReplyDeleteAlright...No basketball today...sorry guys, there arent many people coming and i have to clean the basement which is going to take most of the day.
ReplyDeleteTheres no basketball next week as well, at least not at the gym, If the weather permits maybe we will play in bolingbrook at the park.
